Stroke

Stroke can occur when a blood vessel(s) in the brain are occluded (blocked) therefore, causing parts of the brain to die or, blood vessel rupture which too results in brain tissue death. Cells in the brain need continuous blood flow carry oxygen to function normally; without blood flow brain cells begin to die within minutes. The brain is responsible for the majority of our bodily functions therefore, when the brain is compromised as in a Stroke the result is, a decline in bodily function which can lead to devastating disability and even death.
