C.A.R.E LLC provides bleeding control training that was developed by the Hartford Consensus called “STOP THE BLEED”. The initiative is a result of the growing number of active shooter incidents, and natural and man-made disasters/events. Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death from trauma. Arming the layperson with some basic knowledge and skills in conjunction with appropriate equipment will increase a victim’s chances of survival. After successful completion the participant will be provided a certificate of completion from AMERICAN COLLEGE OF SURGEONS COMMITTEE ON TRAUMA.
This course will teach the importance of stopping the bleed. Participants will learn how to:
- Identify the source of bleeding
- Look for life-threatening injuries
- Learn basic life-saving interventions including bleeding control with direct pressure, gauze packs and a tourniquet, as well as how to pack a wound
